I've been creating both traditional and contemporary pewterware since 1975.
Rebecca was born in Boulder, Colorado, and educated at Allegheny College (1968-1970) and Miami University (1970-1972, B.F.A.). She studied pewtersmithing in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada (1972).
Rebecca began working gold, silver and pewter while in high school. Following college, she moved to Marblehead, Massachusetts where she worked for a jeweler, a silversmith and a leaded glass studio. Three years after studying pewtersmithing in Canada, she returned to her home in Akron, Ohio and in September 1975 opened the "Pewter Shop" in Bath. During her first twenty years, Rebecca focused on traditional themes, but in 1995 she began producing items with contemporary lines.
From 1981- 2005 she lived in Kansas City, Missouri and divided her time between pewtersmithing and motherhood. Rebecca moved to St. Joseph, Michigan and into the Box Factory late January 2006.
Rebecca's contemporary work has been well received, giving her entry to international competitions and displays and top national shows.
