About Us

Our Mission

The Hidden Studios Tour is committed to organizing and promoting a public art event of high quality and artistic diversity. Our goal is to provide personal one-on-one opportunities for visitors buy fine art, to ask questions, and to see where and how work is created.

An art destination in Wisconsin.

Our goal is to draw people to the area in order to expand cultural and economic benefits for citizens of Ice Trail Area of Central Wisconsin.  One aim of the Tour is to promote sales of our art to visitors.

Our Steering Committee, Permanent Studios & Guest Studios

The Hidden Studios Art Tour is run by working artists and volunteers. Funding is provided by participating artists, studios, patrons, and local businesses.

We lost two members in 2019. Forever missed in our community

Words from a previous guest artist

"Your community of people and friends was great to get to know and share some time with.

Living and working in an area where people come together for the greater good , spirituality and

fun is the best of all worlds." -Linda Sheard ▪ porcelain artist in 2019-

Artists are invited by the HST Steering Committee.

Steering Committee members look for new potential artists all year at art festival, gallery exhibits, and through recommendations. Interested Artists can apply by filling out our Artist Applications due by Monday, November 16,  2020.

Steering Committee: Paul Klein, Sharon Fujimoto, Mike Jagielo, and Jessie Fritsch

Jury Process

The Hidden Studios Steering Committee invites and rotates guest artists and guest studios each year so that the tour remains fresh, interesting, balanced and manageable. The capacity for adding new artists is limited; artists from different media are added as the need arises. Decisions regarding continued participation of invited artists and/or studios do not reflect on the quality of the artist’s work, but rather what is needed each year to keep the tour balanced.

Guest Artist Requirements:

  • Guest Artist must commit for two consecutive years to the tour. Dates: October 1-3, 2021 and Oct 7-9, 2022.
  • Guest Artist must pay a $300 booth fee each year. Booth fee is subject to increase slightly as needed.
  • Guest Artist is responsible for their own display system. Art Tour is held indoors.
  • Provide 6-10 high-resolution images needed for brochure and prefer artists to use  Dropbox for all required documents and photo downloads.
  • Help promote the Tour.
  • Demo your process if possible.

Guest Working Art Studio Opportunity

We are always looking for new art studios to add to the tour. Working Art Studios need to be located in the Amherst/Almond/Waupaca area. No studios in Stevens Point Area.

Requirements:

  • Guest Artist must commit for two consecutive years to the tour. Dates: October 1-3, 2021 and Oct 7-9, 2022.
  • Guest Studio and Artist must pay a $275 booth fee each year.  Booth fee is subject to increase slightly as needed.
  • Guest Studio and Artist is responsible for hosting 1-3 artists at their art studio. Studio Artist should also try and provide housing for hosted guest artists.
  • Guest Studio and Artist is responsible for providing bathrooms for tour guests, refreshments, and volunteers to help with guest counting and parking at their studio. Art Tour is held indoors.

If interested in becoming a guest studio and artist please mark artist's interest on artist application and send images of your studio space and property.  Artists need to be invited as a guest artist before their studio can be reviewed. The steering committee needs to visit each interested studio before a studio invitation can be made.
