I enjoyed a 34 year long career as a public school speech and language pathologist, but always loved art and had spent thousands of hours over many years at art exhibits, street fairs, and gallery visits with my artist husband.
So, in 2008, I made the decision to delve into art-making for myself. I was always drawn to watercolors, so that was where I started. Since then, I have taken many classes and workshops, watched DVDs, devoured books written by wonderful artists, and become generally enamored with my second career.
My most recent efforts have been with mixed media work, including paper collage and image transfers. My painting style reflects my love of vivid colors and negative painting, and the mixed media work builds on that with the addition of a variety of interesting textural elements. Each piece tends to be identifiably objective, typically with a stylized approach, although sometimes moving more into the abstract.
I am a member of Gallery Q Artists Cooperative, and my work has been featured during various exhibits and in juried exhibitions at the Riverfront Art Center in Stevens Point, as well as at Artists and Artisans in Elizabeth, IL. I have watercolors in the collection at Marshfield Clinic-Stevens Point campus and have had work displayed at Sentry's @1800 Gallery and in Culture and Agriculture 2015 at New Visions Gallery in Marshfield.
